Soon, A new AIIMS in the offing at Telangana

Hyderabad: A delegation of TRS MPs led by B Vinod Kumar visited Union Minister for Health JP Nadda to request him to set up the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the state as per the provisions of the AP Re organisation Act, 2014.


"Setting up of AIIMS in the newly formed Telangana State is a promise made in the AP Re organisation Act. Hence, we urged the Union health minister to take measures to fulfill this promise as soon as possible," Vinod Kumar told the New Indian Express after meeting Mr. JP Nadda.


The MP said that they had emphasized on the good the Telangana AIIMS would do to the neighbouring states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.


"JP Nadda got convinced and promised us that his department would expedite the process of granting all permissions and funds to set up AIIMS in Telangana," Vinod Kumar further added.


The state government has already decided to set up the proposed AIIMS at Bhongir with a 1,000 acres of land having already been identified at Bhongir for the hospital.
