Patna: Taking cognizance of the incompliance by the Principals and Superintendents of 6 medical colleges and hospitals over the encroachment issue at these institutes, the Patna High Court has issued notices to these authorities.

In its order, the High court division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Anil Kumar Upadhyay directed the top authorities to conduct an inquiry into encroachments on the premises of their respective institutions and submit compliance reports. The court has further warned the principals and superintendents that strict action will be taken and their salaries will be withheld if they somehow fail to follow the order.

The case was filed in the year 2010 where the petitioner had requested the court to issue directions to the authorities to remove encroachments from Patna Medical College and Hospital, Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital, Anugrah Narayan Medical College and Hospital, Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur and Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur.
