Process to set up 11 medical colleges in Haryana is under progress : Vij

Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said that the process to set up 11 medical colleges is under progress whereas 11 other medical colleges are already functioning in the state.


Replying to a question in the Vidhan Sabha here, Mr Vij said that the present state government was working to establish at least one medical college in each district.

He said that the state government has issued Letter of Intent to different trusts and organisations for setting up medical colleges.

These included Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Charitable Trust, New Delhi for setting up medical college at Bahadurgarh, Miri Piri Charitable Trust at Kurukshetra and Shah Satnam Ji Research and Development Foundation at Sirsa.

Apart from this, the Centre has been requested to set up All India Institute of Medical Sciences at village Manethi in district Rewari, for which approval would soon be granted, he said and added that for this, 200 acres in village Manethi was being made available on lease.
