Patient jumps to death at Tanda Medical College

Kangra: A 51-year-old patient from Pathankot, undergoing treatment at Dr Rajinder Prasad Govt Medical College at Tanda, committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the medical college building on Monday, police said here.

Kangra SHO Kuldeep Raj told UNI that Subhash Kumar, resident of Khanpura, Pathankot, was undergoing treatment at DRPGMC Tanda. He said the patient jumped from the fourth floor of the hospital building and was critically injured. Subhash was taken to the emergency, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Dr Gurdharsahan Gupta, Medical Superintendent of DRPGM College Tanda, told UNI that Subhash was admitted in the hospital three days back with a complaint of abdominal pain. Dr Gupta refused to comment on the reason behind Subhash taking the extreme step.

Police have registered a case under Section 309 IPC and further investigation is on, the SHO said.
