Odisha: PG student of AIIMS missing in sea

Odisha: Suspected to be swept away by a strong current in the sea, a post graduate student at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar is reported to be missing.

Ashil (the victim) along his four fellow students had gone on a pleasure trip to Paradip recently. They were reportedly bathing at Manahadi river mouth near Nehrubangla, before Ashil was reported to have been drowned.

It is suspected that Ashil along with a fellow medico Tony Joseph ventured deep into the water which has led to this unfortunate development. Jospeh is reported to be safe after he was rescued by the local fisherman present at the spot.

Ashil KC is a third year student at AIIMS and hails from Kannamanglam in Kerala.

As reported by Express, a search operation is on by the Marine Police to trace Ashil, said IIC of Paradip Marine police station, Anirudha Routray. A Coast Guard vessel, helicopter and local fishermen have been engaged in the search operation, he said
