Nipah fever: Central team visits Kozhikode Medical college

Kozhikode: A high level Central team led by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Director Surjit K Singh on Monday visited Kozhikode Medical College in the wake of fever deaths caused by Nipah virus in this coastal district of Kerala recently.


The team came to collect information on the spread of the virus in the region and help aid the state government to tackle the situation.

Prior to the visit the team met Health Minister K K Shylaja, who briefed them about the steps taken by the government.

They would visit the affected areas after studying the measures taken by the government.

Meanwhile, one more person was confirmed of contracting the disease in the region.
