New med colleges in rajasthan to charge double the existing ones

Jaipur: The five new medical colleges commencing their academic sessions soon will be charging far more for a fee than the existing government medical colleges in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, and Bikaner. According to recent media reports, the new medical colleges will be charging more than double the fee of the government medical colleges. The five new medical colleges in Pali, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Dungarpur, and Churu, have a large no of seats as payment seats. For payment seats, a student has to submit Rs 7.5 lakh, per annum as tuition fees.


Run by the Rajasthan Medical Education Society(RMES), these colleges have been given a nod for commencing their academic session for 2018-19 by the Medical Council of India(MCI), and the Ministry of Health.


While the existing government medical colleges at Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur. Bikaner, Kota, and Ajmer charge Rs 33,500 as the tuition fee along with other fees annually, the new medical colleges have announced Rs. 77, 000 as a fee for normal seats per year.


For the same MBBS course, private institutions, on the other hand, are reflecting a fee ranging between Rs 12 lakhs per annum and Rs 19.25 in their information booklet issued by the office of the Chairman, NEET UG medical and dental admission/counselling board, 2018.


Jhalawar Medical College, Jhalawar has the lowest fee among all existing medical colleges of the state. According to the latest fee structure, a student has to deposit Rs 19,360 as tuition fee plus other fees per annum for a normal seat, reported TOI.


The process of admission has been initiated in the new medical colleges by the medical education department with August 1 as the date for commencement of classes.
