Ner Chowk medical college would emerge as premier institute of HP : CM

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was committed to provide specialized and best healthcare facilities to the people of the state at their door-steps.


He was addressing the faculty and staff of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College at Ner Chowk in Mandi district.


He said that this medical college was sure to emerge as one of the best medical colleges of the State as it has the best infrastructure and location. Initially, this medical college was to be developed as ESIC Medical College and Hospital, but due to certain issues the same could not materialise and it was only after the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved this Medical College for the State.


The Chief Minister said that this institute has one of the finest infrastructure and campus in the State and the state government would provide all required infrastructure and faculty for this medical college at the earliest. He said that all modern facilities such as MRI, CT Scan and X Ray machine would be provided to the Institute.


This college would prove a boon for the people of the region by providing them best health care facilities nearer to their home.


He said that in the coming four-five years this institute would surely emerge as one of the premier medical college of the State.


He said that the first Medical University would also be established at Mandi to effectively manage all the existing six government medical colleges in the State.
Earlier, the Chief Minister planted a sapling of “Behera” in the campus of the Institute.


He also listened to the public grievances at Circuit House, Mandi.
