Nadda launches work of Nagaon medical college

Guwahati: Union Health Minister P Nadda launched the construction work of Nagaon medical college and hospital in central Assam.


The construction work started with a 'bhumi pujan' at the site, attended by Nadda, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, among others.


Expressing happiness at the development, Nadda pledged all financial support from the central government.


He added that the new medical college will boost the education sector in the state.


The state government, which will be investing Rs 190 crore in the first phase in the hospital, has targeted to complete construction in three years.


Earlier, Nadda had launched construction work of a medical college and hospital in Dhubri and opened a cancer hospital in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
