MP High Court reserves anticipatory bail pleas in MPPEB case

Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court reserved its order on anticipatory bail pleas by officials of a private medical college and the Medical Education Department who stand accused in the state's Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.


Chief Justice Hemant Gupta reserved the order after hearing arguments from both sides.


The Medical Education Department's former officials SC Tiwari and NM Srivastava had filed pleas for anticipatory bail. Likewise, a private medical college's admission committee members Vijay Kumar Pandya and Vijay Kumar Ramani had sought anticipatory bails. Counsels for the petitioners and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) debated over the pleas in the court. Meanwhile, the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of another medical college's chairman Suresh Singh Bhadauria has been deferred till tomorrow.
