Indore: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College(MGM), had 100 of its MBBS students up in arms as against the poor facilities available to them in terms of parking space and extracurricular activities in the college. A complaint regarding this was submitted to the Divisional Commissioner, Raghavendra Singh. They also pursued the college Dean on the matter to press for their demands.

The students were raising a voice for proper parking space, which today stands dumped with mud and filth as all entrances to the college are closed as the construction agency is busy developing infrastructure in the college.

The medical students also complained of poor living conditions in the hostel. “We have to park vehicles far from the hostel building as roads and parking spaces have turned muddy,” a student told Free Press.

The memorandum submitted to the two college in-charges stated that the students were paying Rs.300 every year while the students union was charged Rs. 1500 though in reality, no union was in existence. The memorandum stated that though every student pays Rs 500 for students’ welfare all they benefitted from were two dilapidated table tennis tables for sport during relaxation hours.
