Coronavirus: Maharashtra reschedules NEET PG, NEET MDS counselling, delays Physical Document Verification process

Mumbai: Through a recent notice, state comment entrance test cell, Maharashtra has released the Revised Schedule for Admission to Medical and Dental Postgraduate course for state quota seats in Govt/Corp/Govt Aided colleges and all seats in Private /Minority Colleges of Maharashtra. The move comes in light of the rising cases of coronavirus in the country and the direction of the government not to have too many people ( more than 50) assembling at one place. 

"In view of directions from the Government of India and Government of Maharashtra as a preventive measure for avoiding the spread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), this office has revised the admission schedule and process published in Notice No 1. The Physical Document Verification Process schedule from 17/03/2020 to 2/03/2020 for NEET-PGM 2020 and from 23/03/2020 to 24/03/2020 for NEET-MDS 2020 is CANCELLED to avoid crowd gathering," the notice stated

The notice added that the Physical Document Verification of Selected Candidates will be done to decide Eligibility or Non-Eligibility at the time of joining to respective college in the selection round(s). The Reserve category candidates who will fail to submit requisite documents as per respective category will not be allowed to join and will be considered as open category or changed reserved Category for further rounds. Such candidates will be considered for selection in subsequent round(s) on the available seat as per merit and preferences filled by them, subject to full filling the eligibility criteria of Open Category/Change reserved Category.

Document verification of NRI Candidates will be done Online. NRI Candidates who will fail to Submit requisite documents to claim NRI quota will be considered Open/Reserve Category, subject to full filling the eligibility criteria of State quota for NEET-PG/MDS 2020. The Candidate may be called Individually if required at the office of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai from 18/03/2020 to 21/03/2020. Document verification of In-Service Medical/Dental candidates will be done by their respective establishment i.e The office of Directorate, Health Services, Mumbai/Directorate Medical Education & Research, Mumbai. PWD Candidates can upload Disability Certificate issued by Authorised Medical Boards upto last date of editing i.e. 22/03/2020.

Note:-

1. Candidates who opt for change of reserved category or PWD claim can edit from their login from 18/03/2020 to 22/03/2020 up to 06:00 PM for NEET-PGM & MDS 2020. (Change from Open Category to Reserve Category, Non-PWD to PWD Category & Non-NRI to NRI is NOT Allowed.)

2. At the time of joining to college, the candidate must submit all requisite and uploaded original documents. Final Eligibility of candidate will be ascertained during joining for admission at respective college.

3. If any candidate fails to submit essential requisite Original documents at the time of joining to college, then his/her admission will stand cancelled.
