Major reshuffle of medical college professors in Odisha

Bhubaneshwar: Medical colleges and hospitals of the state have undergone a major reshuffle at various levels by the state government. The reshuffle has been done in the ranks of principal, Superintendent, Dean, and Faculty members. 20 professor transfers have been initiated to new medical colleges opened in Balangir. Baripada, Balasore, and Koraput.


Dr PC Mohapatra, Director, Medical Education and Training (DMET) has been posted as In-charge Director, Regional Spinal Injury Centre (RSIC) at Cuttack; while Dr Sonamali Bag, Former Director, VIMSAR has been posted as Directorate, Medical Education, Training (DMET).


Dr Arun Kumar Dandpat, the Former Dean and Principal, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, (MCH) at Berhampur, has been promoted as Head of Radiotherapy and given additional charge of tertiary care center at MKCGMCH. While Dr Radha Madhab Tripathy, HoD of Social and Preventive Medicine has been posted as In-charge Dean and Principal. Dr Bijayeeni Mohapatra, In-charge Dean and Principal, Saheed Laxman Nayak, MCH has replaced Tripathy.


In-charge Superintendent, MKCGMCH, Dr Kshetrabasi Subudhi has been posted as Professor, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) in the same medical college, while the Surgery Department Professor, Dr Charan Panda has been appointed as in-charge Superintendent.


Prof Rama Raman Mohanty, of MKCG, Physiology Department has been appointed as In-charge Dean and Principal, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College at Baripada. Prof Punyanshu Mohanty and Prof KC Biswal on the other hand, have been posted as in-charge Superintendent in Baripada MCH and Koraput MCH respectively, reports TNIE.


Prof Ramesh Chandra Samantray of Anaesthesiology Department and Prof Sudhir Kumar Ghosh of Microbiology Department, VIMSAR have been posted as in-charge Superintendent of Government Medical Colleges at Balasore and Balangir respectively.
