Madhya pradesh: MGM faculty attendance to be checked by MCI

Indore: The Medical Council of India in order to regulate regular attendance at MGM Medical College has decided to take biometric impressions of the faculty and link it to its aadhaar card details.


"A team of experts outsourced by MCI will visit the college next week for taking biometric thumb impression of the faculty members and linking it with their Aadhaar card details," said Vice Dean Dr Sanjay Dixit.


13 biometric thumb impression machines have already been installed in the various buildings of the college and the hospitals associated with it.


As there is shortage of faculty in all the six government medical colleges of the state, the biometric attendance is meant to keep a check on transferring of faculty from one college to another, in order to show adequate staff at the time of MCI inspections.


The Council Team is also planning to take thumb impressions of Post Graduate students of the college.


The Biochemistry exam conduction process at the college is also to be checked by the apex education regulator, during its visit on July 18. Thisis being done an MD seat in Biochemistry has recently been allotted to MGM College by the Council.


The online counselling process at the college for its 150 MBBS seats is already underway reports TOI.
