Kerala loses 600 seats as 3 colleges debarred intake admissions for 2 years
Kozhikode: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has debarred 3 private self financing colleges of Kerala from admitting students for the coming two academic years. Al Azhar Medical College, Thodupuzha , Kerala Medical College, Palakkad, and DM Wayanad Institute of Medical Science, Kalpetta have been directed to refrain from granting students admission for 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Similarly, Kannur Medical College, Anjarakandy and Mount Zion Medical College, Adoor have also been asked to abstain from admitting students against increased intake of 50 and 100 granted last year to the two colleges by the Ministry.
The above decision has affected Kerala's medical education in a big way as it has lost admissions in 600 seats reports Mathrabhumi.
