Kerala: Govt to upgrade GMCs announces minister

Kochi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences is soon going to have contenders in the form of Government Medical colleges who are to be brought at par with the country's premier medical hub says Health Minister K.K. Shylaja.

The first step to be taken in this regard being the setting up of a modern outpatient facility being available at a chosen few medical colleges.

The Minister made the announcement while speaking at an inaugural of a project to distribute bread and milk to patients, at a Government Medical College here on Saturday.

The initial benefactors of the scheme would be those below poverty line.
