Bengaluru: The Association of Minority Professional Colleges in Karnataka (AMPCK) on Friday gave an undertaking before the High Court that no counselling would be held till September 14 for MBBS seats under the linguistic minority quota.

The undertaking was given by the counsel for AMPCK before a division bench headed by Justice Jayant Patel during the hearing of petitions filed by Surya Bramara and other students belonging to a linguistic minority group.

The students' counsel contended that those ranked low in NEET-2016 have been permitted to participate in the first round of counselling meant for minority students. The counsel added that the apex court had made the test mandatory to evolve a transparent admission process. However, it isn't being followed while conducting the counselling.
