Karnataka: BIMS Director, Superintendent staff accused of fund misappropriation

BIDAR: A cry under the banner of 'Dalit Rakshana Vedike'was raised against the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences’s(BIMS)Director, In-charge Superintendent and accounts staff for misappropriation of funds by the Non-clinical and security staff of the institution.The staff skipped work and staged a protest outside the college on Monday.


The agitated staff alleged that patient collections and funds released for various works of the college had been misused.


“The money collected from the public for various medical services offered should be deposited in the institute’s bank account on a daily basis. However, BIMS officers have not deposited around Rs. 20 lakh thus collected between January and August 2015,” an agitating staff said.


He said that payments to the tune of Rs. 12 lac had been deposited in installments, in various accounts held by BIMS, October 2015 onward, after the issue of misappropriation came to light.


Pointing at the Director of the Institute, the Superintendent In-charge , and the accounts staff, the staff member alleged that these were the people involved in siphoning of institutional money.
