JIPMER ranks 1st in Mera Aspataal Ranking

Puducherry: One of the prominent medical institutions in the country at present, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has bagged the Number 1 spot in 'Mera Aspataal' Ranking done by Ministry of Health, Government of India (GOI).


According to a JIPMER release on November 8, 'Mera Aspataal' is a Ministry of Health, Government of India's initiative launched in 2016 to capture patient feedback for the services received at the hospital through user-friendly multiple channels such as Short Message Service (SMS), Out-Bound Dialling (OBD), mobile application and web portal.


The patient can submit the feedback in seven different languages on the mobile app and web portal for the hospitals visited in last 7 days.


The patient can also check the already submitted feedback. The collected feedback will be compiled, analyzed and visualized in the form of a dashboard accessible to the different stakeholders at the facility, district, state and national level.

"'Mera Aspataal' will help the government to take appropriate decisions for enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery across public facilities which will improve the patient's experience. The patient will be able to receive an effective and appropriate care.
'Mera Aspataal' will ultimately help in establishing patient-driven, responsive and accountable healthcare system," the release further stated.


JIPMER which includes a tertiary care referral hospital is an Institution of National Importance (an autonomous body) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The medical institution was established in the year 1823 by the French Government but was converted into Dhanvantari Medical College at the time of de facto transfer of Pondicherry to Government of India. This Medical College was later upgraded into Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.


JIPMER aims to consolidate its position in research with the establishment of a Centre of Applied Basic Medical Sciences.
