Jipmer ranked No 1 among Medical institutions in South
Puducherry: Jawharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) Puducherry has been ranked number one among medical institutions in South India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2018.
According to a Jipmer release here on Thursday, the institution has been ranked number four among government medical institions in the country and number six overall (including Private medical institutions) in the country.
NIRF Ranking is being done by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development and was started in the year 2016.
For the first time, this year medical and dental colleges were also ranked by NIRF.
The rankings assume significance as performance of institutions has been linked with “Institutions of Eminence” scheme.
