Jharkhand to get three medical colleges: PM to inaugurate Hazaribagh Medical College on Feb 17
Hazaribagh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to give Jharkhand the boost of three medical colleges together. The upcoming medical colleges Palamu, Hazaribagh and Dumka are expected to be inaugurated in the program organized in Hazaribagh.
Chief Minister Raghuvar Das had laid the foundation stone of the three medical colleges on 23rd February 2017 on the same day. The scheme of these three medical colleges is about Rs.885 crore. Of these, the central government has given Rs 317 crore. The three medical colleges have been constructed in record time.
The confirmation of inauguration of one medical college was recently given. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a medical college in Hazaribagh on February 17, Union Minister Jayant Sinha Sunday confirmed. Sinha is the Lok Sabha member of the Hazaribagh seat.
"The Prime Minister will inaugurate a Medical College in Hazaribagh during his visit. He agreed to visit Hazaribagh after being impressed by the implementation of Central and state schemes in Hazaribagh," the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation reporters here.
After the formation of the state, there will be first time that medical colleges will be inaugurated. It is to be mentioned that the construction of the Rims of Ranchi was made in 1960, the construction of MGM of Jamshedpur in 1961 and the construction of PMCH of Dhanbad in 1971.
The state government has targeted to start MBBS courses in these colleges from the coming academic year. However, the recent MCI inspection at the upcoming Palamu medical college during the month of December 2018 revealed severe deficiencies in the medical college. The health secretary has asked for a status report on the timeline of the removal of deficiencies, reports Dainik Bhaskar
