Madhya Pradesh: Chief Medical officers and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC) authorities jointly resolved an issue of offering service during month-long Simhastha.

There were demonstrators in the college, reportedly in tussle with the CMO’s over the issue, and it was only after the intervention of the MGMMC authorities the matter has now been rested.

The issue at hand involved 12 demonstrators and 8 CMOs, who will now exchange their duties in Simhastha on a rotational basis. This will be over duration of two weeks.

Overall, there were more CMO’s around 30, who were involved in raising an objection over being assigned duty orders for Simhastha in Ujjain.

As reported by TOI, CMOs had objected that if they will give duties at Simhastha, who will attend medical exigencies at hospital. Crying foul CMOs passed the buck on demonstrators saying that it will suitable to post them in Ujjain during religious festival.

CMOs desire to put onus of Simhastha duty on demonstrators created a rift between them. Demonstrators rued that why only they are posted in Ujjain for a month. The tussle continued for nearly a week following which it was decided that CMOs and demonstrators both will give duty during the Simhastha.
