Hyderabad: 1st batch of MBBS Graduates pass out of Apollo Medical College

Hyderabad: 99 Graduates of the first batch of MBBS (batch of 2012) from the Apollo Medical College, were awarded their degrees and medals at a glittering Convocation ceremony, held recently on April 17, 2019.


Chief Guest Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, Director, Heart & Lung Transplant Programme and Senior Consultant, Cardiothoracic, Transplant and Minimal Access Surgery, Apollo Hospitals and Guest of Honor Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group and Trustee AHERF, presented the MBBS Degree Certificates to 99 graduate students at the Convocation ceremony.

The medical graduates were administered the Hippocratic Oath on the occasion and meritorious students were felicitated with medals.


Chairman Dr Prathap C. Reddy Gold Medal for the Best Outgoing Student of the College, was presented to Dr Mohammed Nehad Khan, who also received the Best Outgoing Student Gold Medal from the Dr NTR University Vijayawada, as well as a total of 21 gold medals and 3 silver medals, for his consistent academic brilliance, all through the MBBS course from the College.

Nestled in the heart of Hyderabad, Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is located at the Apollo Health City campus, an international hub for Health care professionals, education and research. AIMSR was established in 2012, by the AHERF, a non-profit trust that is committed to excellence in research and education.


The medical college campus is spread over 10 acres at the Apollo Health city main campus in the Jubilee Hills area of central Hyderabad. It has 150,000 sq ft for both administrative and academic block and a teaching hospital with 300 beds, isolated in a separate 100,000 sq ft facility. The college holds 13 different clinical departments and 9 pre and Para-clinical departments with 20 full-time Professors and 18 Associate Professors specialized in medicine and surgery. It has an annual intake of 100 Medical students which commenced in the year 2012. The student-faculty ratio is 1:1.
