Hold fresh counseling for admission to MBBS course: Anbazhagan
Puducherry: AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan on Wednesday urged the administration to take immediate steps to hold fresh counselling for MBBS course after preparing a new merit list.
Making a special mention during Zero Hour in the territorial Assembly, Mr Anbazhagan brought to the notice of the government, the order of the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court to grant 196 marks, 4 marks each for 49 erroneous questions, in the Tamil version of this year's NEET to those who took the exam for medical admissions in the regional language.
He said since the court has directed to provide and additional 196 marks, the government should write to the CBSE to release a new merit list for Puducherry and conduct the counselling afresh.
It may be noted that the Centralized Admission Committee (Centac) of the government has already completed the first round counselling for admission to MBBS course here.
Replying to the special mention, Chief Minister V Narayansamy said that the Puducherry is following the MCI guidelines and alternate steps would be adopted in consultation with the MCI.
