Haryana: The students of the Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Ballabgarh (Faridabad), have recently staged a protest outside the residence of the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s residence.

The single premise of their protest is to demand clarity from the state government on the college-since it has been closed in February. The students gathered outside the CM’s residence to express their anguish over the matter, and in turn, also demanded to meet the CM so as to share their held grievances.

The students have threatened to continue their dharna till the time they are provided a solution to the matter. But towards the evening, the protesting students were taken into custody by the UT Police .

They are also reported to have visited the Delhi’s Haryana Bhavan to establish contact with the CM, but were unable to meet him.

Pioneer reported that the future of 400-odd medical students hangs in balance as the Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, where they had obtained admissions for their MBBS course, has been shut down without allowing them complete their degree.

The students, many of them girls, have been running from pillar to post to get themselves heard.

A delegation of the students met Dhanpat Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education and Research, but the meeting failed to appease the protesting students.
