Haryana: Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Ballabgarh (Faridabad) is staring at a shut down by its management.

The present state of affairs has left the 400-odd medical students in a lurch. As a result of which, the students at the college are now trying to save their future by approaching the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Panchkula, to air their grievances. However, there has been no assurance given to them as yet.

A third-year student at the college has implied in her statement that this totally unexpected course of action by the college management has put our future in dark. Another student implied on the matter they now want to be accommodated in some government medical college so as to be able to complete their degree.

The Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research started its first academic session in 2011-12 followed by successive sessions in 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15. However, the things went awry at the college after MCI refused to grant it permission for 2015-16 because the college violated its guidelines. The state government has also gone ahead and deleted the name of the college from a list of private medical colleges imparting MBBS degree in September 2015.

As quoted by Tribune, DK Bahera, Director, Medical Education and Research, said the matter was under consideration of the state government, though no decision had been taken.

The management and the principal of the institute could not be contacted in spite of repeated attempts.
