Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said a medical college named after Mata Sheetla Devi would be soon constructed.

The Municipal Corporation, the Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority and the Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Board have been entrusted with the task of constructing the college, he said.

A suitable place would be identified for the proposed medical college and each stakeholder will bear 40 per cent of the cost of construction, only the remaining 20 per cent amount would be incurred by Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Board, the chief minister said.

Khattar was speaking at the 'Harit Gurugram-Ek Prayas (plantation drive) Programme' here.

The drive could be successful only with the whole-hearted cooperation of the people, he said, asking industrial houses to the programme under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Khattar described Gurgaon as the "industrial and economic city of the state" and said the state government would leave no stone unturned for its development.

"This icon city has a vital contribution not only in the state, but also in the country," he said.

The chief minister said to check traffic jams here during the rainy season, the Badshahpur drain is being further widened by 10 metres and houses along the drain have been moved.
