Nagpur: The Government Ayurvedic College (GAC), Dean's suspension for violation of admission norms by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER-Ayush wing) seems to be emerging as a war of sorts based on a personal vendetta, between the Dean, GAC and the Ayush, Head. This would hold true if one was to go by the explanation being offered by the Dean for his suspension. The suspension order from the DMER (Ayush wing), dated October 10, 2017, has been received by the Dean.

Dean, Dr. Ganesh Mukkamwar, in his defense told the TOI that he will seek legal intervention against the charge of suspension made against him.

"I had not violated any regulations while admitting a girl student in the year 2016. This seat was filled as per the procedure on the last two days of the admission process. As per the regulations, after the admissions through the entrance examination, the vacant seats are to be filled by the college dean and are called as institutional admissions. I filled the vacant seat as per rules and yet the DMER is calling this violation of the procedure," he informed TOI.

Speaking about a November 28th DMER circular received by him last year, Dr Mukkamwar said that the written directive spoke of a GAC vacant seat and the need for it to be filled as per the institutional admission process. It gave directions to him to fill it, as he had the powers to do so, the Dean further stated.

"I filled the seat on November 29 and 30 but the DMER cancelled the admission of the student. This girl student then approached the high court and it directed the college to reinstate her. I had to admit her following the court order as I couldn't have violated a court order. But once again Ayush head has attacked me wrongly and suspended me. I will approach the court now," said Dr Mukkamwar.

According to the TOI report, an ongoing war seems to be on between Dean Mukkamwar and Ayush Head, Dr Pradeep Raj Kohli.

The differences between the two seem to have become apparent after Dr. Kohli was removed from his post, based on a court order, in a case filed by Dr Mukkamwar, states TOI. The court is believed to have proved his professional incompetence for the post. However, Dr Kohli continues to remain Head- Ayush, despite court orders. The press had also taken on this issue when it happened. Dr Mukkamwar is now claiming that Dr. Kohli is getting back at him in the issue, states the TOI report.
