Goa: Opposition questions facilities at Goa medical college

Panaji: Goa's Leader of Opposition Pratapsinh Rane told the State Legislative Assembly that several patients are made to sleep on stretcher and ground in Goa Medical College and Hospital.


"I want to know how many in-patients are there in GMCH. How many of them are sleeping on stretcher and floor," Rane said moving a cut motion for the demand of grants to the Health department.


Rane, former state chief minister said that during his visit to GMCH that he had personally seen patients on stretcher and ground.


You can't have patients lying on a stretcher and ground. What is the arrangement that you have made to improve the situation of GMCH," he questioned.


He said facilities at GMCH should be increased as the population has gone up.


"We also have patients from neighbouring states getting admitted at GMCH," Rane added.
