GMERS Medical College Gotri aims at PG courses in ENT, pulmonary, medicine and psychiatry
Vadodara: GMERS Medical College, Gotri has initiated the process of introducing three new postgraduates (PG) courses to its academic curriculum.The courses it plans to introduce with the approval of the Council include ENT, pulmonary medicine and psychiatry.
The college has recently received an affiliation certification from MS University, which it followed with the submission of an application to the government of India, which in turn has sent it forward to the Medical Council of India(MCI).
Postgraduate application fee of Rs. 4 lakh for each of these introductory subjects has been submitted by the college, which is now expecting an inspection visit from the Council, this year.
If the application gains acceptance, GMERS will be able to offer PG courses from the next academic year. Once the MCI gives an approval the college will go ahead and submit Rs 85 lakh as bank guarantee for each of the introduced subjects reported TOI.
With its present teaching strength, the college is hopeful of getting around 3-4 seats in ENT; 2-3 seats for its psychiatry course; and 3 seats for pulmonary medicine.
