GMC Chandigarh granted a 5 seat hike in MS Orthpaedics

New Delhi: Bringing good news for orthopaedic aspirants in the area, the Punjab University has been granted an increase of 5 seats for the MS (Orthopaedics)course for its Government Medical College(GMC), Chandigarh by the Post Graduate Medical Education Committee.


The Postgraduate Medical Education Committee considered the Compliance Verification Assessment Reportalong with the Council Assessor's Report and compliance dated 11.07.2017 submitted by the college authorities and decided to recommend to the Central Government that MS(Orthopaedics) qualification against increased intake from 01 to 06 seats granted by Punjab University, Chandigarh in respect of students being trained at Government Medical College, Chandigarh be recognized and included in the 1st Schedule to the I.M.C. Act, 1956.


The recognition will be granted for a maximum period of 5 years from the date of notification upon which the Institute shall have to apply for renewal of recognition. Failure to seek timely renewal of recognition as required shall invariably result in stoppage of admission to the Postgraduate Course.
