First Kidney transplant unit to commission at IGMC soon

Shimla: First Kidney transplant operation is scheduled to be held soon as the Organ transplant unit is being commissioned at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla after returning of trained doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi.

Talking to UNI, Senior Medical Superintendent of IGMC Hospital Dr Jank Raj informed that first kidney transplant was scheduled to be held on April 8 was deferred as the team led by Dr Bansal from AIIMS directed the hospital to register four to five cases for the transplantation before scheduling the next date for first Kidney transplantation at IGMC.
