EC gives permission to conduct interviews in Govt Medical Colleges

Chandigarh: The Election Commission on Monday gave its permission to hold interviews in two government medical colleges of the state.


Disclosing this here, Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab Dr S Karuna Raju said that these interviews will be conducted to recruit teachers in the Medical Colleges of Punjab.


In its approval, the EC also directed that due procedure must be followed.


With the Model Code of Conduct on for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, many medical colleges have found themselves in quandary as their hiring process has now come to a full stop.

Just like the medical colleges in Punjab, Medical dialogues had recently reported that Suffering from a severe shortage of medical faculties, the State Medical Education Department has written to the Election Commission to seek permission to conduct an interview for the post of Assistant Professor's post at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGM) Indore. Further action will be taken as per the department's directive.
