Classes at AIIMS AP will start from next academic year: JP Nadda

Vijayawada: Union Minister for Health JP Nadda said that the construction work of AIIMS would begin soon and classes for medical students would commence during the next academic year.


Inaugurating Rural Health Centre and training center, constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore at Tadikonda village in Guntur district today, the minister praised the health services, being provided by the Andhra Pradesh government.


Later the Union Health Minister assured to do justice to medical college students Fathima Institute Medical Science whose permission was canceled by the MCI as the institute failed to follow standards. The students would be accommodated at other medical colleges as per the court order, he promised.


State Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, BJP MLA Vishnukumar Raju and MLA Shrevan Kumar were present.


Earlier, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu invited the Union Minister to his residence for breakfast. He discussed with the minister about the construction of AIIMS and other projects. He urged the minister to take steps to complete the pending project in AP at the earliest.
