Centre to set up AYUSH institutions in states and UTs

NEW DELHI: AYUSH educational institutions will be set up by the central government in states and union territories where such facilities are not available, Lok Sabha was informed.


Minister of State for Ayurveda, Yoga, Homeopathy Shripad Yesso Naik said as per the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), the government has approved setting up of AYUSH educational institutions in states/ UTs where such educational institutions are not available in government sector as per the proposals received through State Annual Action Plan.


He said during Question Hour that under the NAM, the government is committed to upgrade and strengthen infrastructure of AYUSH that includes co-location of AYUSH facilities at primary health centers, community health centers and district hospitals.


Upgradation of exclusive state government AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries, setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospital, upgradation of state government under-graduate and post graduate educational institutes are some of the under initiatives the government will take under the NAM, he said.
