CBI arrests former chairman of Index Medical College Admission Committee

Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday arrested Arun Arora – the then chairman of the Index Medical College's Admission Committee – in connection with the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.


CBI sources said Arun Arora was arrested from Vijaynagar area of Indore as a non-bailable warrant had been issued against him by a special CBI court here.


Arora was presented before a court here from where he was remanded to judicial custody for one day. Arora was arrested in connection with a criminal case related to the Pre-Medical Test-2012.


Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that 200 students, who took admission in four private medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh through management quota on a hefty payment, might hang in the balance after a CBI probe into a Vyapam case claimed irregularities in their selection.
