Darbhanga: 7 students of Darbhanga Medical College (Batch 2008-12) will be facing the Central Bureau of Investigation interrogation, in relation to the Vyapam scam being probed by the country’s top investigating agency, revealed college sources on Wednesday.

According to information one of the students has already been identified while 6 others are being scanned. "It is for the CBI to take further action," sources said.

The CBI had earlier sent photographs of the suspects to the DMC for verification by comparing the documents with the admission register of the institution, during the mentioned years.

The scam involved different examinations conducted by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board between 2008 and 2012 for selection of medical students and state government employees.

After receiving the documents from the investigating agency, Principal DMC, RK Sinha, constituted a committee comprising two senior professors of the college to peruse document and compare the photographs of the students under suspicion with those available in the admission register. The committee recently submitted its report to the Principal.

While confirming to have received the report, Principal Sinha informed that the same had been forwarded to the Bureau’s office. "We cannot divulge the content of the report because the issue is confidential and sensitive. Now, the CBI would act upon this report," he told the TOI.
