BHU suspends student for beating up a resident doctor

Uttar Pradesh: The administrative facilities of a student at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have been suspended for allegedly beating a resident doctor at the ultrasound unit of the department of radio diagnosis and imaging, Sir Sunder Lal Hospital.

As implied by a BHU spokesperson on the case it is reported that the hospital properties have also been damaged by some students. This information has been verified by the video footage where one student has been identified as being actively involved in the incident.

As a further action, the student has been presented before the standing committee on the case to give a clarification on his alleged misconduct.

As reported by TOI, according to BHU spokesperson, a resident doctor was beaten and hospital properties were damaged by some students on Wednesday. On the basis of video clippings a student of MA (French) Rajan Kumar Singh was identified in scuffle along with his friends.

The student was asked to be present before the standing committee on misconduct by students to clarify the allegations leveled against him. Meanwhile, all his academic privileges have been suspended.
