Andhra Pradesh: Govt requested to hike PG medical and dental fee

Hyderabad: The Telangana Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association (TPMDCA) on Wednesday asked the state government to increase the fee for its Post Graduate courses.


Private medical Colleges are of the view that unless the state government revises the fee they will not be able to offer PG medical and Dental courses under Convenor Quota for academic year 2017-18.


The association revealed that the present tuition fee was not adequate for survival of private medical colleges and requested the Government to asked the government to the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court for the admission process, seat sharing and fee structure.


The association said the present tuition fee was not viable and not adequate for the survival of the private medical colleges and requested the government to follow the principles laid down by Supreme Court with regard to admission process, seat sharing and fee structure.


“The present notification issued by Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has not addressed any of these issues. The notification has the students confused and uncertain. The present policies and regulations are crippling the colleges financially and ultimately will force colleges to shutdown,” the TPMDCA members told Telangana Today.


The private medical college managements said that the seat matrix, which had been till now followed in accordance with the guidelines layed down by the Supreme Court were now being flouted unilaterally, weakening the private medical colleges of the state.
