31 All India quota seats have no takers in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: 31 non Gujarati seats out of the 161 all India quota seats in the state seem to have found no takers. They will now be transferred to domicile students during the 2nd round of counseling. Meanwhile, a Dharna is to staged by the Gujarat state board students to demand a separate merit list for allocation of seats on pro rata basis.


The Dharna is to be staged at Sardarbaugh Lal Darwaja.


According to officials, these 31 seats belong to the 15% quota reserved as All India seats in government colleges.


These 31 seats include seven in Vadodara; six each in Rajkot and Jamnagar medical colleges; five each in BJ Medical college, Ahmedabad; two seats in Bhavnagar medical college; and four seats in Surat, reports TOI.
