Ahluwalia Contracts bags order Rs 425.42 crore to Construct Government Medical College, Chapra

The Ahluwalia Contracts said in a BSE filing it has secured a new order for Construction of Government Medical College & Hospital Building at Chapra, Bihar.


Mumbai: Infrastructure Major, Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Limited has recently secured a new order of Rs 425.42 crores approximately for the construction of Government Medical College and Hospital Building at Chapra, (GMC Chapra) Bihar.


The information to this effect was announced at a recent BSE filing where the spokesperson of the Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Limited stated that the company has bagged the order to construct Government Medical College and Hospital at Chapra, Bihar.


The total order inflow during the FY 2018-2019 stands at Rs. 3529.19 Crores.


The establishment of Government Medical College, Chapra was approved by the Bihar government last year in January. Apart from Chapra, new medical colleges will be opened up in Purnea, Samastipur, Vaishali, Begusarai, Siwan, Buxar, Jamui and Madhepura. A private medical college would also be started in Madhubani by the end of 2018, taking the total number of medical colleges to 26 in Bihar.


The decision came in the wake of the state health services being ravaged by lack of infrastructure and adequate manpower as revealed by the annual health index report 2017, released by the NITI Ayog.


Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd is India's EPC service provider in the construction sector. The company is primarily in the business of construction of a wide range of structural building and manufacture of Ready Mix Concrete. They are having business interests in varied segments including IT Parks, Retail, Multi Storeyed Housing Complexes, Industrial Complexes, Luxury Hotels, Hospitals and Commonwealth Games Village & Stadium.


Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd was incorporated on June 2, 1979. In July 1979, the company acquired the business of four partnership firms engaged in construction. In September 1990, the company became a public limited company.
