Odisha: Balasore MCH to commence admissions from next year

Balasore:Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in an effort to get the MBBS course at Government Medical College and Hospital at Balasore going from the next academic year (2018-19) reviewed the progress at the hospital and expressed confidence about commencement of session in the coming year.


The Chief Minister alerting the health officials about the impending MCI visit, asked them to ensure that all infrastructural work and equipment installation were complete before they arrived.


"I have also asked to initiate process for appointment of principal, medical superintendent, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and laboratory technicians, so that we can obtain letter of permission from the next session," Naveen said, expressing satisfaction over the progress at work.


The Medical college at Remuna whose foundation stone was layed by the Chief Minister on October 28,2014, was supposed to have commenced session immediately, however incomplete construction delayed the commencement of the academic year.


While clinical activities are to be carried out at the upgraded Balasore District Headquarters Hospital, the administration has provided 22.86 acres of land for construction of class rooms, laboratories and the administrative block, reports TNIE.
