ACPM Medical College was banned in 2016-2017 by the MCI from conducting MBBS admissions on account of gross deficiency of facilities which were noticed at the institute during the MCI inspections. At that time apart from ACPM medical college, 31 more medical institutions had been debarred by the apex medical regulator.
Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences in Palghar was one of them. Dr Lahane informed the daily that Vedantaa Institute’s approval was still pending, without which they can’t participate in the admission process.
