2 more doctors of Index med college surrender in the PMT 2012 scam

Bhopal: The Index Medical College PMT 2012 scam, on Friday, saw two doctors associated with it surrender in the court of the special judge D P Mishra. The Judge sent them to jail in Judicial custody. The two convicted are Dr Nitin Gotwal and Dr K K Saxena,


According to Special CBI prosecutor Satish Dinker, they have been made accused in the case by the CBI because they were members of the Index College’s admission committee in 2012 when the alleged scam happened. The scam had seen seats going to candidates who did not even give the PMT exam, instead of to those who sat for it and passed it, as well.


Proprietors of four private medical colleges- Suresh Vijayvargiya of Peoples’ College, J N Chouksey of LNCT Medical College, Suresh Bhadoria of Index Medical College and Dr Ajay Goenka of Chirayu Medical College- have also been named as accused in the case. reports TOI


Except for Goenka, who is serving a jail term after having surrendered, none of the others have come into court, despite, their anticipatory bail applications having been rejected by the trial court in Bhopal and the Supreme Court, Delhi.


Medical dialogues team had earlier reported that the Central Bureau of Investigation in November 2017 arrested Arun Arora – the then chairman of the Index Medical College’s Admission Committee – in connection with the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam
