16 Dental Colleges get LOP for 132 MDS Seats; Details
New Delhi: A total of 132 seats are going to be added to various MDS specialities at 16 dental colleges from the academic year 2019-20 as the Ministry of Health has given its nod for issuing Letter of Permission (LoP) to these institutes.
The confirmation to this effect comes via a recent notification uploaded on the official website of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The notice clearly states that in continuation to this Ministry's Letter of Intent (LoI) dated 31.01.2019 and with reference to your letter dated 07.02.2019 furnishing therewith necessary PBGs and other documents, Ministry of health directed to convey the permission of the Central Government for starting of MDS course in following specialties at your College for the academic session 2019-20 under' Section i0(A) of the Dentists Act, 1948:
The permission of the Central Government is accorded initially for a period of one year and will be renewed on yearly basis subject to the verification of the achievement of annual targets as indicated in your scheme. The process of renewal of permission in the original intake capacity will continue till such time the expansion of its facilities is
completed.Any admission made in violation of the above condition will be treated as irregular and action under the provisions of the Dentists Act, 1948 and Regulations made thereunder shall be taken.
Discrepancies, if any, may be brought to the notice of Dental Council of India and Central Government. Please acknowledge the receipt of this letter.
Mentioned below are the 16 dental colleges who will be granted LoP to add a total of 132 MDS seats in various specialities:
