All About FMGE 2018
The entrance examination, Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) is an examination mandatory for all Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) in order to be able to practice in India. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) recently announced the important information regarding the screening test- Foreign Medical Graduates Examination 2018 (FMGE 2018).
As stated by NBE, the FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced through the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, "An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act."

Instructions:
Online submission of application form begins on 16th October 2018 from 07:00 PM onwards. Online applications can be accessed and completed till 11:55 PM on 6th November 2018.
NOTE: Candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin and instructions for online submission of application form carefully before starting online submission of application form and ensure that no mandatory column in the
online application form is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for reconsideration will be entertained. Candidates may note that deficiency, if any, in the application form shall be
communicated to them within 15 days of the close of the registration window.
Candidate will be given one week time thereafter to rectify the deficiency and provide supporting documents if so required.
Admit cards to provisionally eligible candidates will be issued on 6th December 2018. Applicants candidate will be able to download them from the website using their login ID and Password.
FMGE 2018 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The Applicant must meet/ fulfil the following criteria:
2.1. He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India.
2.2. The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.
2.3. The cut-off date for obtaining the Primary Medical Qualification is on or before 30th November 2018.
It is mandatory to provide proof/documentary evidence in support of the candidate having passed final examination for such a primary medical qualification/posses the primary medical qualification on or before the cut-off date. In the event of the date of issue of result/proof of primary medical qualification being after the prescribed cut-off
date, the application form shall be rejected and the candidate declared as ineligible.
2.4. Candidate seeking provisional or permanent registration shall not have to qualify the Screening Test if he/she holds an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia/ Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and the holder thereof has also been awarded a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia/Canada/ New Zealand/ United Kingdom/United States of America and has been recognized for
enrolment as a medical practitioner in that country.
2.5. Applicants/Candidates may also refer to Screening Test Regulations and Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. The same may be referred to at www.mciindia.org.
FMGE 2018 EXAMINATION FEE:

FMGE: Rs. 5500/-
The above fee is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin. Please note that this is a composite fee (as above) inclusive of fees for the examination and information bulletin. Information Bulletin shall also be available at the website for reference.
How To Pay :
The prescribed registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks of India or through Net Banking.
Candidates remaining absent from the examination will forfeit their examination fee. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfilment of eligibility criteria before proceeding for payment of fees.
FEES SHALL NEITHER BE REFUNDED NOR CARRIED FORWARD IF THE APPLICATION FOR FMGE IS REJECTED/CANDIDATURE IS FOUND TO BE INELIGIBLE.
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:
The exam consists of one paper, comprising 300 multiple choices, single correct response questions in English language only, delivered in two parts to be taken in a single day.
The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computer network as per the prescribed scheme.
Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking.
Allocation of time for the FMGE shall be as follows:

Note: FMGE is divided into two parts of 150 questions each with time allocation of150 minutes for each part. There is a scheduled break between the two parts.
Candidates are required to report at the 'Reporting Counter' at 7:00 AM for Part One and 12:00 PM for Part Two (two hours prior to the start time). The reporting counter will close 30 minutes prior to the test start time. The candidate who fails to report to the reporting counter by the stipulated time as indicated above shall not be allowed to test
An applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he/she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination.
Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed on NBE website. There is no provision for re-totalling/re-evaluation.
There are no restrictions on the number of attempts that can be availed by an applicant.
FMGE ADMIT CARD & TEST DAY DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS:
The examination shall be conducted on 14th December 2018.
At the time of submission of online application form, the candidate will be required to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. The choice of the city will depend on the availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis.
During the submission of online application form, the candidate will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available. While the city will be chosen by the candidate himself/herself at the time of online submission of application form, allotment of test centre/venue in the chosen city shall be done by NBE.
In the case testing seat is not available in the State in which you prefer to appear in FMGE, you can choose the option OTHERS from the list of States at the time of selection of the State during online submission of application form
NBE will make all efforts to ensure that the candidate is allotted a testing centre in the State of correspondence address of the candidate. In the case, the testing seat is not available in the concerned State due to logistics, administrative and other reasons, testing centre in a nearby State shall be allocated. Such candidates shall be informed about their
testing city by 21st November 2018.
Candidates will be informed regarding their test venue approximately 7 days before the examination day.
5.3 Requests for change of testing centre/city shall not be entertained. Candidates are advised not to canvass for the same.
5.4 At the end of online submission of application form, the candidate will get a computer generated acknowledgement at the registered email id of the candidate. Admit card will be issued to the candidate once the testing venue has been allotted to the candidate by NBE in the city chosen by the candidate during online submission of application form. Candidates will be informed through SMS alerts and Public Notice regarding downloading of the admit card from the website.
Admit Card can be downloaded from 6th December 2018 onwards. Candidates are required to download their admit card from the website and affix their latest passport size photograph in the space provided on the admit card. Admit card will not be sent to the candidates by Post.
The photograph should have the following specifications:
• Size of photograph: minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face & head of the candidate.
• A caption indicating the name of the candidate and date of capturing the photograph should be there at the bottom of the photograph.
Background of the Photograph: white
• The photograph needs to display a full front view of the face. Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression.
• Please avoid photograph with reflection or shadow on the face with red eyes.
• The photograph needs to be printed on a high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi Resolutions.
• The photograph must not have kinks, scratches and stains.
Candidates MUST bring to the test centre the following documents: (Unfair means case shall be registered against the candidates submitting false/ forged documents.)
• The printed copy of the Admit Card with Photo of the candidate pasted on it; &
• Photocopy of Permanent / Provisional SMC/MCI registration*, to be retained by the test centre &
• Anyone of the authorized photo IDs** (must be original, valid and non-expired)
i. PAN card
ii. Driving License
iii. Voter ID
iv. Passport
v. Aadhar Card(with photograph)
"In case, any candidate reports to the test centre with the e-Aadhaar card with Aadhaar number printed on it as proof of identity, the e-Aadhaar card should be a good quality colour print out with the clearly visible photograph. The photograph should not have kinks, scratches and stains, and should definitely match with the candidate presenting the e-Aadhaar card. The decision of NBE in this regard shall be final".
* The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Admit card. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage; candidate must show the relevant document at the time of the exam.
Candidates may kindly note that they have to report by the time as indicated in the admit card and para 4.4 of this Information Bulletin. Candidates reporting late or beyond the prescribed time shall not be allowed to appear in the exam under any circumstances.
Candidates are advised to acquaint themselves with the test centre location one day prior to the testing day and ensure that they report to the test centre within the prescribed time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING FMGE 2018 APPLICATION FORM
The online submission of application form for FMGE is available on www.nbe.edu.in from 16th October - 6th November 2018.
Online submission of application form begins on 16th October 2018 from 07:00 PM onwards. The last date for submission of application form is 6th November 2018 (11:55 PM)
The candidate may note that there is no option for submitting the form other than the online mode, offline applications or printed copies will not be accepted.
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given before proceeding to fill up the online application.
(a) At the end online submission of application form, the candidate will get a computer generated the acknowledgement. This acknowledgement shall also be sent at the registered e-mail ID of the candidate. All fields marked * in the online application form are mandatory.
Applications of the candidates producing false or fabricated information will not be considered and the candidates may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations.
Candidates must preserve a hard copy of application form for future reference.
