AIIMS Jodhpur: Student commits suicide, four days after taking admission
Jodhpur: An MBBS student at AIIMS here allegedly committed suicide last night, just four days after taking admission to the prestigious institute.
Rashmi Yadav (20), who belonged to Alwar district, had been accommodated in the hostel on the AIIMS campus.
"In a suicide note, she advised a teacher to behave properly with students," Station House Officer, Shastri Nagar, Amit Sihag said.
Sihag said Yadav had taken admission to AIIMS, Jodhpur, on July 23.
On Thursday night at about 10.30 pm, we received information that a girl had committed suicide in her hostel room. She was not seen around after 8 pm. When other students came calling her for dinner, the door of her room was found latched from inside," said the officer.
The staff was called in and the door of her room was broken after no response to the calls was received from inside. Yadav was found hanging from a ceiling fan.
She was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead.
This was the third such case of suicide at AIIMS, Jodhpur, in the past three years.
