AIIMS issues clarification on conduction of NEET 2020
New Delhi: After receiving several queries on AIIMS MBBS entrance exam from UG aspirants this year, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi) has issued a clarification in this regard.
In the recently issued notice, the institute has clearly stated that Conduct of MBBS-2020 Courses Entrance Examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) via National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test; NEET 2020, not by AIIMS, New DelhiMedical Dialogues had reported that these major changes in the medical education system are the features of the newly cleared National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill, 2019 which is going to replace the Medical Council of India (MCI).The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for common national entrance test – NEET – along with common counselling for MBBS, and a common final year MBBS exam which will be applicable to all institutes including those of national importance like AIIMS.AIIMS and JIPMER, which have national importance status; function under the Union Health Ministry conduct their own admission tests at present.In reference to communication received from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and several quarries received in regard to MBBS 2020 Entrance Examination for year 2020, it is hereby informed that to the provisions the Section (14) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law.
Therefore, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, and all AIIMS like institutions will be made through NEET(UG) &will be conducted by National Testing Agency, not by AIIMS, New Delhi.
AIIMS, New Delhi will not conduct any separate AIIMS MBBS Entrance Test for AIIMS, New Delhi and all other AIIMS for the year 2020 session.

Date of NEET 2020 NEET 2020 will be conducted on 3 May 2020 (Sunday) from 02:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m.IMPORTANT DATES FOR NEET 2020The last date for submission of Application Form of NEET 2020 i.e. 31.12.2019 (upto 11:50 PM) has been extended to 06.01.2020 (upto 11:50 PM), in order to enable the aspiring candidates who have not been able to apply in the Online Application Form due to heavy rush in the website. | ||
