Action against 10 medical Students for ragging at Tripura Medical College

Agartala: In a recent case of ragging at Agartala Medical College, ten senior medical college students have penalised for including in an illegal ragging.

AGMC Principal Prof K K Kundu said they have penalised Rs 10,000 on each of the 10 senior medical students for indulging in ragging new comers in AGMC hostel. Besides, slapping fine on the accused students they were warned of severe action for any further indulgence, he said.

Allegedly, the accused students have been torturing the junior students for past few months in the hostel and a few of them had fallen ill.

The victim students finally reported the matter to their guardians who had taken up the matter with college authority seeking action against the accused and security of the students in the hostel.

"After due enquiry 10 of the seniors were found guilty and they have been warned followed by imposing fine of Rs 10,000 on each one of them. Besides, the hostel management was asked to be vigilant on the activities of the borders," Prof Kundu stated.
