6 PG Medicos accuse HoD Pathology of Molestation, Abuse, Harassment; Chargesheet filed
6 female PG medical students came forward with allegations of abuse, molestation and harassment against the professor.
Dehradun: Based on the complaint of alleged sexual harassment by 6 PG medical students, the police has filed a charge-sheet against the former Head of the Department of Pathology (HoD Pathology) at Haldwani-based Dr Susheela Tiwari Government Medical College. The doctor was earlier transferred from the institute after the investigation into the allegations initiated.
According to a recent media report, the order to file the charge-sheet was passed by the Directorate of Medical Education and was subsequently approved by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat himself.
The alleged harassment surfaced over a month ago when the 6 female PG medical students came forward with allegations of misbehaviour, abuse, molestation and harassment against the doctor.

On coming to notice, the Directorate of Medical Education constituted a committee at the departmental level to investigate the allegations. At the same time, the department took preliminary action and removed the professor from the post of Head of Department from Medical College Haldwani to Almora.
In the investigation report of the committee, the professor was found to be harassing the girl students, reports Amar Ujala. After which the government was approached to send the inquiry report on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education for further action. Now, on the basis of the inquiry report, the charge sheet has been filed against the accused professor.
Pankaj Pandey, secretary health education said, "The orders have been issued form the directorate and the professor has been asked to submit his reply to the department within a month." The approval to issue the charge sheet was given the CM, adds TNIE
